Near Field Communication (NFC) refers to a short range wireless, RFID communication technology. Two devices equipped with NFC technology can communicate and share information when in proximity with one another, without ever needing to launch an application. Craft Silicon’s NFC is a contactless technology that gives instant access to any digital data and information from your mobile device through three different ways:
Host Card Emulation Mode
This is the ‘passive’ mode in which a mobile terminal behaves like a smart, contactless chip serving multiple purposes such as mobile payments. The phone sends the information to the NFC device e.g. a ticket validation kiosk or payment terminal.
In this mode, your mobile plays an ‘active’ role as a contactless chip reader that allows you to read information or trigger actions by simply ‘tapping’ your phone to a NFC tag. The focus is to provide a seamless user experience across channels, both online and offline.
Two-way data exchange between mobile devices, communicating via NFC.
Interactive NFC services
Remote Multi-Application Management – In case of a lost / stolen mobile phone, a user can suspend their NFC services immediately and remotely. For this purpose, users and service providers are given the authority to control security and mitigate risks.
Remote User Management - Service providers can send information and access NFC service records.
Encryption and/or decryption of data transactions.
NFC is highly secure as transactions can be initiated only by the customer, and multiple or consecutive transactions need to be initiated independently.
Scalable - A scalable solution with the potential of handling merchant payments, in the future.
Excellent Experience - A comprehensive and user friendly interface that facilitates a memorable customer experience.
Easy To Use - No need to carry multiple credit cards, simply load them all on your phone to enjoy coupons and reward points that get credited directly into your account.
Security - Near Field Communication always employs a secure channel, encrypting data when sending or receiving sensitive information between your phone and another device. This protects against hackers.
Versatility - Everything you need at your fingertips, without cumbersome multiple payment modalities.
Social Network – Link your Near Field Communication technology and its benefits with social networks such as Twitter and Facebook
Bluetooth & Wi-Fi - A simple and streamlined setup for information sharing through smartphones.
Document Identification – Safeguard your business with the right kind of security. NFC is especially useful to those who need to share confidential information with select receivers, avoid accidental information transfer to the wrong parties.
